Toscana, Italy, 2015
The Chianti Classico region is situated directly between Florence and Sienna. Here in 1716, Grand Duke Cosimo III of Tuscany identified the region as being the best for growing grapes to make Chianti. Dark brilliant ruby. A wonderfully refined nose is full of ripe plum and cherry aromas, filled out by tantalizing spicy notes. The fruit is lush and forward on the palate with sweet toasty oak flavours blended with bitter chocolate and ripe raspberry.
